When you are constantly focused on your world you often forget about how much other people go through. It’s not that you are selfish…You just have to jolt yourself to open your eyes and look around at the world from another person’s perspective. Recently while I was throwing one of my many pity parties I decided that I could no longer twist in my office chair listening to sorrow songs anymore. So when I was invited to be social with others, which I often shy away from, I jumped out of my comfort zone, put on my big girl panties and met someone new. I didn’t
want to just hear what the person had to say…It was my goal to try to actively listen to
more of what people have to say. Where am I going with all of this and what did I find when I opened up a bit???….Well her name is Allison.
Allison has been through the wringer. She is a daughter, sister, writer, recovering alcoholic and hilarious storyteller that has a constantly FORWARD moving life. Sometimes when you have a past that you would prefer to forget you decide to
let your life steep into a lull of self loathing and excuses. Instead, Allison documents her journey in a completely raw open wide blog “It’s a Lush Life”. Start from the beginning and you won’t be able to stop reading. Every moment that I spend with Allison shows me what you can do with drive and determination to be a better you. Surrounding yourself with people that are redefining themselves into positivity rubs off in a fascinatingly large way. She has met me for lunch, dragged me to exercise classes and taken the time to share her past, present and future self with me and I remain constantly intrigued by our happenstance friendship.
I was honored when she asked me to do a visual profile photo-shoot at her home with herself and one of the ONLY dogs that haven’t made me scream out of fear, OTTO. I ADORE shooting at my clients homes because it really lets you see someone at their most relaxed state. What you get are visual images of the real gut of your subject. I believe her photos speak for themselves…take a look at all of the light she shines into the world. Enjoy the pics folks…
