I always look forward to year end reviews. As we are busy living life we often forget the days that have been completed and all the progress that has been made. This year has been a hard one for me. I have learned a lot about myself and sometimes it wasn’t pretty. A little bit of my balance was lost and I had to ask the big questions about why I am doing what I do. I have judged, been judged by others and karma has taken a big chunk out of my butt. Would I trade this year in?….NO. I am beginning to appreciate my little spot in this world. The competition and endless worry of trying to turn my passion into a business started to take over and dull my light. I have learned to be patient this year and to look for the little sparkles that pop up when things go dark. Through it all, I can honestly say that when I was at some of my lowest lows this year my clients sparkled for me. Even if just for the day of shooting, I relished in the escape and joy each personal experience gave. This year of photo-shoots is very near and dear to my heart. Every shoot gave me a little nugget of wisdom and I will carry the lessons learned with me for years to come.
So for 2014 I will strive to:
- Free my heart from hate
- Free my mind from worry
- Live simply
- Give More
- Expect Less
And above all else I wish in 2014 to gain some perspective and get back to the heart of things.
Sooooo…. Let’s get to the photos that have inspired and sparkled for me in 2013.
These images remind me of what life is like when you are in your twenties. You go through so many important changes and have so much to look forward to. These ladies really showed a pure spirit of adventure.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it. I LOVE TO CAPTURE LOVE. Seeing people vibe off each other and remember their spark is priceless. This couple stole my heart.
Babies babies babies. I think I saw more belly bumps this year than I have in past years. I adore a beautiful pregnant mommy. Throw in a beautiful big sister here and a hunky husband there and you can’t help but walk away with a smile on your face. Every new life that is being created (or that exists for that matter) needs a good capture.
I love that I only do a handful of weddings a year…if that. Why? Because I get to really focus on the couple and not the commotion. This couple and I had been working together for a year. Through every stage of the game I was fortunate enough to be allowed to share in the festivities. I will always have a special place in my heart for this family. My heart swelled when they said I do. My wedding of 2013.
When you forget your beauty, need a new perspective on yourself and just wanna have some fun…do a glamour photo-shoot. What I have seen women discover about themselves in the couple of hours we are together blows my mind every time. This person stays with me.
Let’s spice things up a bit… sometimes you just can’t use any other word but SEXY. Being a woman is a powerful force to be reckoned with. Just shake off your worry and live in the moment. Be alluring, be bold, be HOT!
If you aren’t on this blog post it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I love every shoot and take something from it….BUT I can’t fit them all in one blog post. 😉
FALL IN LOVE WITH YOURSELF THIS YEAR… Let’s capture something great together. www.bemephoto.com
