A Survivor’s Story…Barbara

The second Survivor that I had the pleasure of photographing and getting to know was Barbara Saporito.  A few months ago I photographed her daughter and granddaughters and was so happy when she was suggested to me to be in this years Breast Cancer gallery.  Barbara came for a visit a few weeks ago from Wisconsin to visit her daughter Sara, and her family.   While she was here in Charlotte I stole her for her photo-shoot.  You can’t know a person’s whole life in an hour but first impressions say a lot and last forever.  As soon as Barbara walked through the door her warm and welcoming disposition was apparent.  While her youngest granddaughter explored the studio we chatted, ate, listened to Nat King Cole Radio on Pandora and she shared what being cancer free for 8 years meant for her.  Being a wife, mother, grandmother and survivor has no doubt lent to her fiery charm.  After 8 years of being cancer free her love for her family and helping others has proved that she not only survived but still LIVES her life to the fullest.
